They both continued with their banking careers for a few years then George decided to try another career. They moved to Port Alberni, B.C. where George worked in a sawmill for ten months. Laurie suffered with asthma and George decided to return to banking. When he was transferred to Victoria B.C. a wonderful son, Kelly was born. George and his family spent twelve years in B.C. when it was decided to return to Alberta where he worked on home renovations. He missed his career of banking and was hired by the Torquay Credit Union in Torquay Saskatchewan. He spent seventeen years in Torquay as Manager of Loans and retired in 2006. He enjoyed the beauty of the north country and he and Bonnie retired in Rolla, B.C. in the fall of 2006. One year later he became ill and was diagnosed with ALS March 5, 2007.
