Obituary of Mike Feschuk

Mike (Metro) Feschuk, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away in his home September 30, 2009 in the arms of his beloved wife Pat. Mike was born on October 2, 1928 in Mundare, Alberta. He was the third child of John and Mary Feschuk. Mike's family was the most important part of his life. He was always ready to help his girls with anything they were involved in from craft sales to dressing up for Halloween. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His family and friends could tell many an interesting and funny story about his many hunting and fishing trips over the years. Mike was very loyal, if you were lucky enough to call him your friend he would be there for you always. Mike grew up in a family that was very frugal and he never wanted to see anything going to waste. He also enjoyed cooking and made the best turkey stuffing ever. He showed such patience with his grandchildren and each of them loved their Papa. The schooling Mike took was at the Clark school. He left school early and went out to work. He worked the majority of his years pipelining in B. C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Mike retired twenty-five years ago and spent the next years enjoying his garden and was especially proud of the flowers in his yard. Mike was also busy helping other with odd jobs and loved to watch his grandsons play hockey. He enjoyed his many trips fishing all the way up to Alaska. Mike was predeceased by his Mother Mary and father John. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat, daughters Tammy (Brian), Donna (Ron), Shelly (Ron) and four grandchildren Joe, Sam, Brandon and Selena. Brothers, Bill (Marilyn) of Vancouver, Steve (Mona) of Dawson Creek and sister Helen of Edmonton and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and the coffee crews at A&W and the Co-op where he went most mornings. With respect to Mike's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
