Obituary of Alfred George Davis

Alfred George Davis was born on December 31, 1941 in Eastend Saskatchewan to William and Edith Davis. He started school in Cypress Hill Saskatchewan and from there he came to Dawson Creek and continued school, even though he didn't go very often. The family moved to Cherry Grove, Alberta, where his brother Cecil bought a farm. From there Alfred moved to Terrace and lived with his sister Margaret. Alfred then went to work for the City of Terrace. He began working in the water and sewer divisions and then moved on to garbage maintenance. Soon, Alfred moved to Grand Centre Alberta where het met Shirley, they were soon married and had a baby girl, Angela. Over the next few years, Alfred worked for Reid's Welding, Ervin Hillaby and Doug Farglow. Some of Alfred's hobbies were hunting, fishing, trapping and fixing motors. He liked working on 6 cylinder motors the best. Alfred moved back to Dawson Creek in 1979. We lived on Bear Mountain and then decided to move to Mile 11 on the Alaska Highway. Alfred and I got a job picking rocks and roots for Richard Lawrence. He continued working for Richard doing Mechanic work on Cats. During this time, he also worked for Dale, Glen and Paul Fuhriman in Taylor. Alfred then moved back to town, and worked as a ranch hand for Jerry Enedy for 13 years. Alfred loved horses and could be seen helping out at rodeo's. Alfred was predeceased by his parents, 4 sisters and his wife, Shirley. He is survived by his daughter, Anglea Giroux , Leona Doris, his sisters Margaret (Don) Farris, Joyce (Joe) Bakota, brother Cecil (Roberta) Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. Alfred passed away on March 7, 2009 in Pouce Coupe at the age of 67 years. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 1:00pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Rev.
