Muriel Booth

Obituary of Muriel Louise Booth

Muriel was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on November 26, 1928 to Douglas and Edith Price. She was the fourth child out of five. She lived on the prairies until the age of eight when the family moved to Mission City, B.C. Muriel always loved music and dancing. It was this love of music that would provide the special moment when she would meet the love of her life. Muriel and her family often attended the weekly Legion dance and it was there she met her future husband. Muriel was sitting with her parents and younger brother when on a bet a striking man asked her to dance, to which she said yes. The following weekend after the dance, Clifford gave Muriel a ride home, and so the romance began. Muriel and Clifford danced through life together for the next 64 years. Early in their marriage they had 4 children; Clifford Jr., Dianna, Nancy and Linda. Muriel's life revolved around her young family. Raising 4 young children all under the age of 5 on a small farm kept her very busy. As busy as she was she still enjoyed company and would whip up a batch of mouth watering biscuits. Family and friends were always amazed how without missing a beat and enjoying conversation, hot biscuits would appear on the table along side their cups of coffee. Numerous happy hours were spent around the table playing cards and games. No one ever left the Booth home hungry. Muriel also loved camping and fishing with family and friends. Many happy times were spend around the campfire singing and visiting. Muriel was always the happiest when around children. As the oldest four grew into their teens, Muriel and Cliff were blessed with Terry Lyn and Rodney. Muriel was strong, courageous and fought for what she believed in. If life was measured by those who love you, her life would shine with infinite love. She will be sadly missed and loved by us all. Muriel passed into the hands of the Lord on March 6, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Clifford, daughters; Dianna (Tim), Nancy (Dave), Linda (Patrick) Terry, son; Rod (Karen), 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was predeceased by her eldest son Clifford Jr. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Salvation Army Church. Cpt. Francie Lee officiated, interment will be held at a later date. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium, Dawson Creek, B.C.
