Marge was born Marjorie Shuman, January 21st, 1929 to Fred and Blanche Shuman. The family had a stopping place at Braden's Crossing east of Rolla, for freighters hauling grain to Sprit River, and it was here that Marge was born. Finally after three brothers, a baby sister for Myrtle. Marge attended school at Coleman Creek school until the family moved to Whalley BC in 1941. She continued her schooling at Grovesner Road school and Queen Elizabeth High. During the summer Marge worked in a fish cannery on River Road along the Fraser River. At the age of sixteen, Marge began working at a plywood plant as a patcher. She stayed at this job until she was married to William Evans in 1949. Marge enjoyed retirement, lunching at the Co-op, traveling to Fort St John from time to time with Myrtle and generally just being with family. Her passion was bingo and watching wrestling on TV.
