Obituary of Selma Naslund

Selma Naslund a lifetime resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on September 12th, 2007 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 71 years. With respect to Selma's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of Selma's life will be held at a later date. Selma was an active member of the community selling Avon. She enjoyed meeting and visiting with her customers. Selma was an avid gardener; she planted a garden each year with her sister Edna. This year, like every year, they harvested together with new pickles, jams and fresh frozen vegetables neatly organized and of course labelled. Selma had a wonderful sense of humor that she shared with family and friends. Selma enjoyed travelling. She traveled through Alberta, B.C., and the Yukon with family and friends, and always enjoyed the scenery. Her favourite trips were the ones she took with her children as adults. With Rosalie she went to Hawaii which was a great adventure and cherished memory. With Vern, she traveled the Yukon, went crab fishing and gold panning. Her favourite memory was traveling on the top of the world highway. Selma will be missed by many who loved her. Selma was predeceased by her son Vern Spangler in 2004. She is survived by her daughter Rosalie (Rocky) Munro of Powell River, Granddaughters Starley (Mike) Leach of Grande Prairie, Rachel and Amanda Munro of Powell River, Great grandchildren Jamie, Thomas, Clayton, Brandon and Mickaela Leach. Sisters Edna Schluter of Dawson Creek, Dorothy Aronson of New Hazelton, Brothers Don Naslund of Lady Smith, Orville Naslund of Duncan and Irvin Naslund of Dawson Creek. Selma will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Arrangements were under the care of Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dawson Creek, B.C.
