Obituary of Rosie Wingerak
Rosie Wingerak passed away at the Pouce Coupe Care Home on November 20th, 2007 at the age of 78 years.
Rosie was born on the family farm in Melville, Saskatchewan April 2, 1929. In 1950, she married Bill Wingerak in Vernon, BC. They resided in Sudbury Ontario and various areas in BC prior to moving to Salmo in 1958. She lived in Salmo for 45 years before moving to Dawson Creek to be closer to her children and grandchildren for her final years. Throughout Rosie's life she worked various jobs, including delivering mail on horseback, dry cleaning, house keeping, but mostly as a loving wife and mother. Rosie enjoyed being outside attending her gardens, whether it was vegetables or flowers. She loved her games of bingo, crafts, knitting, crochet, curling, and being with her friends. She especially loved animals; from birds to cats to dogs.
Rosie leaves behind her children Larry, Prince George, BC, Elaine Creegan, Dawson Creek BC, Alan (Michelle) Dawson Creek, BC and Dale, Prince George, BC. Grandchildren Bart, Chad, Krystle, Kurtis, Robert, Carina, Bill and Cody. She will also be remembered by her sisters; Mary Polehoyki, Williams Lake, BC, Victoria Turanski, Vernon, BC, Helen Mack, Kelowna BC, Elsie Glowa, Calgary, AB and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1977, her parents Peter & Clara Glowa, Brothers John, Fred and Donald.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Rosie to the Pouce Coupe Care Home Ladies Auxiliary.
