Margaret Emma Martin was received into our Blessed Mother's arms, peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on February 13th, 2008. She leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Andy, her seven daughters: Yvette Morin (Ed), Mary Rudko (Ken), Marilyn Hennessey (Jerry), Trish Bain (Kevin), Joanne Willette (Peter), Jeannette Shaw (Stephen), and Leeanne Williams (Barry), as well as 15 grandchildren: Janelle, Chantelle, Chelsea & Alyson Morin, Jennifer, Jordan & Jeremy Rudko, Jerid & Danielle Hennessey, Jason, Kylie & Shaley Bain, Sarah & Emily Willette, and Taylor Williams, six brothers, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Peter Becher, her Mother, Ledvina Becher, her brother, Ben Becher and sisters: Elizabeth Dagenais and Sr. Mary Becher. Margaret was born in Bluesky, AB on September 30, 1937. She was the daughter of Ledvina and Peter Becher and the seventh of fourteen children. German was spoken at home and she attended school in Friedenstal, AB. Margaret and Andy were married on December 28, 1959, in Friedenstal, AB. Eleven months later, their first of seven daughters was born. Margaret's life was committed to raising her daughters and providing a nurturing home-life. The Martin house was never empty and was always open to receive visitors from near and far. Margaret loved music. She enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and accordion. Visits from family and friends were wonderful opportunities to share musical talents. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of Margaret's joys. Baking, fishing and singing around the campfire were some of Margaret's treasured moments. Margaret's deep faith was a bond that kept her family strong. She was constantly writing to various charities to donate money and to request prayers for everyone who asked. The family wishes to thank Dr. McKinley and the office staff Val and Evelyn, the staff at the Dawson Creek Hospital, Fr. Mike and the Notre Dame Parish Community especially the choir and the C.W.L.. Thank you, also, to all those who generously sent food, flowers, Mass Cards, as well as everyone who kept Margaret and her family in their prayers, throughout her illness. To Richard, Sandy, and Coreen at Reynars: your compassion and professionalism was deeply appreciated. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on February 16th, 2008, at 11:00 am from Notre Dame Parish in Dawson Creek, BC. Fr. Michael Anyasoro officiated. Interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Margaret, to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
