Elaine Tureski

Obituary of Elaine Gail Tureski

Elaine Tureski was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on May 5th, 1947. She was born to proud parents Howard and Jean Caulder. Elaine was a new sister for her only brother Jim. She grew up in Regina attending school at Conaught and Scott Collegiate, taking courses to further her education. She loved animals and spent much of her summer holidays at the farm at Glenavon and Indian Head. Elaine's love for horses was a bone of contention with Norma at times, as she always had to go with Norma. Her cousins Norma, Karen and Donna became her sisters. Elaine met Willie in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1975 through a mutual friend, Alice. Elaine married Willie on May 21, 1977 and moved to B.C. where Willie had worked with Chetwynd Forest Industries. Cory was born on August 17th, 1979. A very proud and happy day for Elaine, she was so very proud of her son. Elaine was a true homemaker in every sense of the word. Elaine excelled in her cooking, many of us enjoyed her 5 course small dinners. She so enjoyed the Friday evenings at Grumpy's with Ross and Barry, the Grumpy Old Men. Music was also an important part of her life. She was a gardener of the highest quality. Her garden and her flowers were her pride and joy. Elaine was a proud woman with a fierce sense of independence. She was a very private person, but always ready to give you a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. Elaine went to work at H&M florists. She kept the girls in stitches with her humour and always coming out with something to make them laugh. Some special times in Elaine's life were the trips they took when Cory was young. The trips included time spent in Saskatchewan to visit the relatives, usually every summer, then a motor home trip to various places in U.S.A. and Cory's big one, Disney Land. Elaine and Willie took longer trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska and their last trip, Elaine's favourite taken just last year to the Grand Ole Opry and Dollywood. On January 10, 2006 and again on December 19, 2007 Elaine's grandbabies were born. Hannah and Tylon were the sparkling lights of her life. Elaine was so proud of Cory and Marilyn. On August 6, 2008 a heart of gold stopped beating. Our lives have been blessed because of our friend Elaine. Her motto was "One day at a time and To Live Life to the Fullest". A Memorial Service was held on August 9th, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Chetwynd Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Elaine to the Chetwynd Hospital Foundation. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
