Obituary of Joe Hamel
Joe Hamel was born on September 19, 1928 in Kimberly, B.C. to Phillpous and Ernestine Hamel. He passed away on September 23, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Joe was the seventh of nine children. As a young boy, the family moved to Tawinanta, Alberta. After leaving the farm he lived in Northern B.C. working in sawmills, logging camps and as a camp attendant.
In about 1964 Uncle Joe moved to Dawson Creek remaining there until failing heath in 2006, which brought him to Hythe, Alberta.
Uncle Joe was predeceased by sisters; Gibby, Simone, Germaine, Helen, Leana, his brother, Ernest and infant brother, Albert.
He is survived by one sister, Irene Wallace and brother-in-law, Frank Ricard. He was a very special uncle to many nieces and nephews. We all loved him very much. Uncle Joe you will be in our hearts forever. Thanks for the memories.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in Beaverlodge, Alberta at 1:00 pm. Fr. David John officiated, interment was held in the Beaverlodge Cemetery.
