Obituary of Jim Stewart Kennedy

God cleared the tracks for James Stewart Kennedy who passed away suddenly on October 23, 2008 in his 80th year. Jim was raised around McLennan, Alberta and worked on the N.A.R. Railway and then as a hydro lineman in Fairview, Alberta. Jim and Olga moved their family to Chetwynd in 1966 where Jim worked for B.C. rail until he retired in 1993. Jim and Joyce were married on April 18, 1986 in Chetwynd and moved to Prince George in 2006. Jim enjoyed being an active member of the community of Chetwynd with the Elks Club, Shiners', Masons, Eastern Star and also volunteering at the recycling depot. Jim also loved sitting in his lazyboy chair knitting for craft fairs and his family and friends, many of us own a pair of "papa" socks, mitts, toques and sweaters. Jim's passion for beekeeping kept family and friends with endless sweetness. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce and children; Shirley (Ray) Langley of Williams Lake, Linda (Joe) Waldner of Prince George, Donna Dziwenko (Dale) of Chetwynd, Patsy (Sohan) Sangha of Chetwynd, Debbie (Ward) Edwards of Prince George, Bill (Donna) Kennedy of Prince George, Stepchildren; Marti (Richard) Shollenburg of Yellowknife, Jean (Bob) Evans of Burns Lake, brother Ken (Judy) Kennedy of Edmonton, 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild. Jim was predeceased by his father and mother, William and Florence Kennedy, first wife, Olga Kennedy (Zesko) sister Helen Dodds, brothers-in-law Henry Dodds and Paul Zesko. "Until we meet again, you will be always and forever in our hearts." A visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Chetwynd Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Chetwynd Baptist Church, Pastor Bill Evans officiated; Interment was held on October 30th, 2008 in the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery.
