Obituary of William Boehm

William (Bill) Boehm was born on July 9, 1935 in Dawson Creek, B.C. to Alvin and Christina Boehm. He was the youngest of 3 children. He passed away on November 23, 2008 in Dawson Creek at the age of 73 years. In his childhood, he befriended many of the American Soldiers who were building the Alaska Highway. He had many fond memories of those days. Bill met Isolde (Salty) Herold and they were married on January 19, 1957. Bill and Salty were blessed with 4 daughters, Maryann, Patsy, Doreen and Suzanne. In his younger days, Bill worked for CNT, Russ' Auto Body Shop, CFL, Hydro and Hydro Construction, which he retired with. He was a jack of all trades. He loved the outdoors and spending many hours at the farm as his pastime. He loved to travel. He and Salty knew every casino in his travels. Bill was always there for his girls. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather who never hesitated to help when help was needed. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Christina Boehm, many aunts and uncles, his niece, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. Left to cherish Bill's memory is his loving wife, Salty, daughters; Maryann (Carl) Hanzen, Patsy (Dave) Caldwell, Doreen Boehm and Suzanne (Steven) Pocock, grandchildren; Carl Jr., Ronald and Alanna Hansen, Orin, Shawn and Sheena Caldwell, Ricki, Sherk, Stevie and Samantha Pocock, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters; Caroline (Lawrance) Lariuiere and Kay Williams, sister-in-law, Edith (Smiley) Andersch, brother-in-laws; Egon (Nedia) Herold, Ernie (Liz) Herold and many nieces and nephews. Bill, Dad and Grandpa, you will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation. With respect to Bill's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held at this time. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
