Marguerite Calahaison

Obituary of Marguerite Calahaison

TOO OFTEN THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT LOVED ONES AREN'T MENTIONED UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE… Margaret Calahaison was born on June 18, 1948 to William Ferguson and Annie Gladue. She had 5 beautiful children and 15 grandchildren. Margaret was a wonderful role model to her children, grandchildren and all that knew her. She had such class and ladylike manners that her poise and dignity radiated to those around her and you couldn't help but notice this beautiful woman. She was very understanding but definitely NO pushover, she was as kind as she was fiery. She was without a doubt a "mama bear"……very protective of those she loved. She loved her grandchildren dearly! Her first born son, Vince was her pride and joy and gave Margaret her eldest granddaughters, Joni and Angela, them being the first to graduate, making Margaret extremely proud. She also loved Vince's other children, Travis, Derek, Nick and Joey. Daughter Shelly giving her another granddaughter, Darylyn and Bradley being her first grandson, she waited a long time for her next grandson after her youngest Deana had five girls first, Jordan, Kimberly, Savannah, Kasey, Bobby and then FINALLY her baby boy Dwayne, whom Margaret had a special bond with, even though being less then a year old. Deana is still awaiting another wonderful addition also. Margaret had another child when she was very young, his name was Paul Johnson, and with a heavy heart Margaret felt the best thing for him was to put him up for adoption, though she did this, she never forgot him and still loved him dearly and was recently reunited with him and learned Paul also made her a proud grandmother with his daughter Madison. Margaret's proudest moments and fondest memories was becoming a great-grandmother to Natalie, Damien and Dominic. Margaret passed away on November 14, 2008 at the age of 60 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Notre Dame Catholic Church. Fr. Michael Anyasoro Officiated. Interment was held in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery. Margaret was predeceased by their son, Terry Calahaison, Margaret and Bobby were laid to rest together with their son, Terry, in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved them. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium, Dawson Creek, B.C.
