Floyd Dokkie

Obituary of Floyd Dokkie

Dad was born on June 5, 1948, 60 years ago, to John and Catherine Dokkie. He was the oldest of 6 children. Being the big brother of 5 did not come without its challenges, but I'm positive he did it with as much humour as possible. I've heard it said that the mark of a person is made in so many different ways, but we'd like to honour dad and remember him for his kind heart, appreciation for other people and his love for nature. There was no bigger or better joker than our dad. To be teased by him was to be loved by him. He could take any moment and make everyone smile through his jokes and teasing, yet he would also be available to give a lending hand when needed. As far as traditions go, he followed the ways of the bush all his life, with a love for hunting, trapping and fishing. He also maintained a great respect for his parents, as any parent would wish for. We now see how he captured some of those memories, through his photography and artistic creations. We'll miss you dad. Eulogy presented by: Floyd's children. Floyd passed away on January 7, 2009 at the age of 60 years. A Funeral Service was held on January 16, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Chetwynd Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
