Obituary of Verna Pearl La Rocque

Verna La Rocque, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 in Dawson Creek at the age of 59 years.

Verna LaRocque was born in Pouce Coupe, B.C. on July 2, 1957. Verna grew up in Bear Lake, B.C. where she attended school. After leaving Bear Lake, the family moved back to Dawson Creek. She met her loving and caring husband, Donald Whitford and spent the last 25 years with him. Verna has two sons; Brent and Cory, whom she loved very much. She liked to garden and grow flowers.
Verna was a wife, mother, sister, auntie and friend. Verna will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

A wake was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Nawican Friendship Centre, Dawson Creek, B.C.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 am from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pastor Cory Lizotte officiated, interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery, Dawson Creek.

Verna is survived by her loving Husband; Donald Whitford, Sons; Brent and Cory, Sister; Martha, Brothers; Victor (Madeline), Melvin, Rodney (Susan), and Ken (Faith).

Verna was predeceased by Mother; Ida LaRocque, Father; Elizar LaRocque, Brothers; Willford, Orville, Daniel, Leo, Sisters; Marie, Kathy, Lydia, Joshine, Esther, nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
