Obituary of Ingrid Gebhardt
Ingrid Gebhardt passed away suddenly August 5, 2017 at the age of 81. She was born in Elbing (WestpreuBen) Germany, to Kurt and Margarete Stolzenberger.
At 15 she interned in a newspaper company where she learned many different jobs. She learnt quickly and was promoted often, but she decided to go into bookkeeping.
In 1961 Ingrid married Karl-Heinz Gebhardt. Five years later in 1966, with 3 children, they moved to Canada. They lived at Lulu Island, Kingsway, Burnaby and in 1974 moved to Dawson Creek. Three years later another child was born to the family.
Mama loved to bake and liked to do word finds. She had a good sense of humor, but if you pushed her too far, she would give you a mouthful (half English, half German). She loved to talk to people whenever we were in line at the till or in the grocery aisles. Mama had a lot of fun scratching her scratch tickets, but never won the big one.
Mama (and Oma) will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
With respect to Ingrid’s wishes no formal funeral service will be held. Interment at a later date.
