Obituary of Lorraine Alice Lagasse

Lorraine Lagasse, a longtime resident of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Rotary Manor at the age of 84 years. 

 

Lorraine Lagasse was born in St. Paul, AB, on May 10, 1934.  She moved to Bonnyville, AB with her husband Claude before settling in Dawson Creek, BC in 1962, where they raised five children.

 

Lorraine was an avid curler, golfer, and bridge player. She was a long-time employee of Safeway.  She spent her retirement years on trips to Hawaii and Phoenix, Arizona, playing lots of golf.

 

Lorraine is predeceased by her son; Denis Lagasse, her parents; Emile & Cecile Roy, siblings; Adrienne Roy, Alfred Roy, Andre Roy and Yvonne Parkinson. 

 

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 64 years; Claude Lagasse, children; Bob (Gerry) Lagasse, Michelle (Allan) Campbell, Simone (Brad) McDonald, and David (Rona) Lagasse, grandchildren; Jenna (Karyl) Gilbertson, Dane Lagasse, Alexander Campbell, Shae McDonald, and Drew McDonald, and her great-grandchild Jack Gilbertson, siblings; Terry Trottier, Yvette (Ed) MacCallum and Louise (Andre) Piquette, and sister-in-law Denise Luken.

 

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who helped Mom during this time.

A special thanks to Rotary Manor Dementia Unit Staff for their care during Mom's illness.

 

Lorraine's family invited everyone to celebrate her life on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Notre Dame Catholic Church. Father Vener Sabacan officiated. Interment followed in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery. At the family's request, there will be no gathering after the interment.
