Obituary of Sue Sutherland
Suzanne Sutherland of Farmington BC passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the age of 68 years old after a five year battle with cancer.
She was born in Dawson Creek on August 7, 1949 and was the fourth of five children born to Julien and Noella Vanhooren.
Sue was raised on the family farm in Bear Canyon Alberta, but spent time living in Worsley, Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe prior to moving in 1983 to her home in Farmington.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years; Bill Sutherland of Farmington BC, sons; Lenny (Nicole) Sutherland of Dawson Creek B.C. and Dwayne (Christy) Sutherland of Kelowna B.C. ; daughter Jackie (Mike) Tolsma of Charlie Lake B.C. and ten grandchildren; Jarred, Taylor, Hanna, Paige, Will, Landon, Trey, Addison, Pierce and Portia, as well as brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large group of friends.
Sue was predeceased by her parents; Noella & Julien Vanhooren, mother in law and father in law; James & Dorothy Sutherland, and brother; Francis Vanhooren.
She was a loving caring person who will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to be touched by her during her life.
Sue’s family invited everyone to celebrate her life on Saturday August 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Reynars Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek B.C. Pauline Haycock officiated; interment will be at a later date.
