Obituary of Murray Logan

Murray Logan, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Rotary Manor, at the age of 75 years.

 

Murray James Logan was born on October 7, 1943 in Chilliwack. Murray worked at Coutt’s Machinery until the 1960s when he started Ace Oil Services. He was a stock car racer who received many accolades and also helped start Mile Zero Stock Car Association. He loved to drive fast. Murray was heavily involved in in his community, serving as a member of Kinsmen in 1970s and volunteered for many years with the Dawson Creek Fire Department. Murray was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over four decades. He also participated and provided support to On Our Own from its beginning. Murray loved flying and driving and being around anything with an engine. He loved being with and helping others.


Murray is predeceased by his mother Gladys and younger brother Ian.

 

Murray is survived by his brother Sam (Bev), his sister Heather (Gerry), his daughter Tracey (Chris), son Todd (Tabitha), his beloved grandchildren Kaelan, Nolan, Ryan, and Janna as well as nieces and nephews. Murray also leaves behind many in the community who knew him as a brother, an uncle, a father, a friend.

A visitation was held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 -7:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel

1300-102 Ave, Dawson Creek, B.C.

 

A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pauline Haycock officiated. Murray was laid to rest in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery.
