Obituary of Terry Couturier
Terry Paul Victor Couturier, a resident of Chetwynd, B.C. passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2019 in Chetwynd, at the age of 53 years.
Terry was born in Fort Nelson, B.C. on May 15, 1965 to parents Arthur and Lauraine Couturier. Shortly after, the family relocated to Chetwynd where Terry grew up. Terry started working in mechanics at the age of 7 with his father Arthur. Whether repairing or removing parts on cars, trucks, go-carts or skidoos he was always very enthusiastic and loved his tools. Throughout his life he acquired knowledge of many trades; body work, tire repair, landscaping, operating a rock truck for the coal mine, skidder operator, heavy duty mechanic, sawing, pilling lumber and canting at the sawmill that his father built from his own ideas. Terry always moved to where he could find work; High Prairie, Chetwynd, Edmonton, Dawson Creek, Kelowna, Kamloops and Mackenzie.
Terry had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed riding a multitude of off-road machines and vehicles (motocross, trikes, snowmobiles and odyssey) that kept him busy. He encircled himself in a large variety of music, rock, bluegrass, and country. Terry really liked candles and flowers. He had a heart of gold and was always very happy when company stopped by to share jokes, laughs, listen to music and to Terry play the guitar.
Terry was predeceased by his father Arthur Couturier (September 22, 2013 age 85), and his brother Felix Couturier (March 25, 2013, age 57).
He will be forever remembered by his mother Lauraine Couturier of Kelowna, B.C.; his sister Kathleen Couturier of Kelowna, B.C.; and brother Jimmy-Dean Couturier of Dawson Creek, B.C. Terry had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, also many cousins and extended family members. Family and friends have fond memories of time spent with him whether on the phone or in person.
Terry’s family would like to invite you to join them to share and comfort each other in a “Celebration of Treasured Memories” for Terry on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00 PM at The Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Chetwynd, B.C.
Please bring a candle in a jar, your fiddle, guitar, harmonica etc. and let’s enjoy music, jokes and laughs!
