Obituary of Jessica Le Pretre (Ganson)

Jessica Le Pretre (Ganson), a long-time resident of Chetwynd, BC, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 39 years.

Jessica Cori LePretre was Born on December 2, 1980 in Peace River Alberta to Vern and Jennifer LePretre. She was the first born of three girls. For most of Jessica's life she lived in Chetwynd BC. Jessica grew up out at Aspen Mobile Estates located 5km south west of Chetwynd with her parents and her two sisters; Alison and Vanessa.

During those years growing up out at Aspen, Jessica and her sisters would make many friends and get into a lot of mischief. Jessica spent her summer days riding around on her banana bike alongside her sisters. Jessica and her sisters, along with kids from the park, would ride their bikes up to Wildmare store to buy 1 cent and 5 cent candies. Vern had a dresser drawer with a box full of pennies that he would, on occasion, allow the girls to spend.

On the hot summer days Jessica and her sisters would ride their bikes up to the creek to cool down. They would build rock dams to make the water deeper to create a swimming hole, a tradition they continued with their children. Hide n seek tag was a favorite game of Jessicas which we played at night outside running and hiding throughout the entire trailer park.

Jessica attended both Dokkie Elementary and Chetwynd Secondary school. In 1995, when Jessica was attending Chetwynd Secondary school she met and fell in love with Kerry Ganson. A few years later, on August 21, 1997 Jessica and Kerry would welcome there one and only child, a son, who they named Johnathan Michael Ronald Ganson. Jessica was absolutely head over heels in love the moment she laid eyes on her son. Johnathan was one of Jessica's greatest accomplishments, she spoke of how proud she was of him in every single way.

Jessica loved the outdoors and all it had to offer. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially camping. Jessica enjoyed sitting around a nice big fire with a drink in hand and music playing.
She absolutely LOVED to dance and listen to music. Jessica had a great talent for calling elk; she could call them suckers right up to your vehicle. She was good to have with you on hunting trips.

She had a great joy for mud bogging, and started a group called Chetwynd Mud Bogging Boy'z n' Gal's. Jessica would be right beside them boys ripping through the mud. Jessica absolutely LOVED her Harley. She was good at jumping on it and taking off not telling a soul where she'd gone. Then all of a sudden she would call and says hey I'm in Peace River!!!!

Jessica was always adventurous and wanted to be on the go; she wanted to travel everywhere and anywhere the road would take her, sometimes you ended up with her without knowing you were actually leaving town.

Jessica loved a good party and definitely was one of the loudest of them all, she had a way to bring people together and pull the crazy out of them.

Jessica was definitely a night owl. She would spend her nights watching movies with either Alison, Vanessa, or countless friends or be playing games on her computer. If you were up late and cruising the empty streets of Chetwynd, you would of even run into her while she cruised around or might have bumped into her at the 7-11. But where ever Jessica was, you would find her loyal and faithful companion by her side; her pug Bugsy. She loved that dog just like another son, they went everywhere and did everything together.

Jessica had a great sense of humor and the personality to go with it. Jessica had many friends among the Chetwynd community and the surrounding areas. Jessica held many different jobs throughout her life in Chetwynd. She worked as a Hostess at Dragon palace, a computer tech at M&J Computers, she was also a Communication technician at cardinal communications, as well as a Clubhouse Manager out at The Moberly Lake and District Golf course. She just had a way with computers and a lot of the family and friends would go to her when they had problems with theirs.

On July 7, 2007 in front of family and friends, Jessica would say ‘I Do’ to her love and Bestfriend of 11yrs, Kerry Ganson.

Jessica was predeceased by her grandfather; Glen Cormylo, great grandmother; Bertha Letendre, as well as many aunts , uncles and cousins.

Jessica is survived by her son; Jonathan Ganson, parents; Jennifer and Vern LePretre, sisters; Alison (Peter) Spenst and Vanessa (Max) Templeton, grandmother; Shirley Cormylo, nieces and nephews;
Payton, Alania, Michael, Layla, Aissa and Tessie, great nieces and nephews; Daniel, Aria, Riley and Violet, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Rest easy Jessica we love you.
