Nolan was a long time resident of Pouce Coupe, B.C., where he lived with his wife Jessie until her passing in 2013. Nolan was a gunner in WWII. He ran a sawmill with Jessie before moving to Dawson Creek, where he worked for 10 years for the city. He also worked for Bawden Drilling and Swanberg Bros. Trucking and running the camps with Jessie before retiring. Upon Nolan's retirement he built a home for Jessie and himself. He also took up gardening which became a large part of who he was. There wasn’t anything that Nolan could not make grow when the sun was shining. He lived alone at home with his cats until his passing. Nolan passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Dawson Creek & District hospital with his son Gerry and daughter-in-law Raylene by his side. He leaves behind 5 sons, 1 daughter, 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Nolan will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving man.
