Obituary of Carol Arychuk

Its with much sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Arychuk (nee Redden), resident of Fort Nelson, British Columbia on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 68 years of age.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of almost 49 years, Charlie and daughters Cory MacAulay (Christopher), and Cristy Arychuk; grandchildren Liam, Lily and Roscoe puppy. Carol was also blessed with a daughter in 1971, Kelly, and showed the ultimate sacrifice as mother, and did what was best for Kelly.  Kelly was loved and raised in southern BC. In 1997, they reconnected and became friends. Carol will also be missed by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, their families and many family friends.

Born and raised in the small community of Hillmond, Saskatchewan, to the late James and late Winona Redden, on April 14, 1952, Carol was a farm girl through and through.  She learned from her parents to be industrious, generous and loyal.  She loved it when her grandkids asked about growing up and all the adventures of living on a farm.  At nineteen she headed to BC for 6 months worth of work and ended up making it her home for the last 50 years. 

Carol was a woman of many talents.  She was very active in both of the communities she lived in.  In Lloydminster she was involved in gymkhana with her horse Bunny, 4-H, figure skating, and softball.  When she moved to Fort Nelson, she continued using her pitching skills, and was known for her place on the pitching mound. One of her many talents was sewing.  She loved to sew and she enjoyed it, and didn’t take long for it to become well known and she did sewing for many people in Fort Nelson.  Since she became a grandmother, all of her earnings have been given to her grandchildren for their education.  Carol was also a great baker and her baking was a delicacy and enjoyed by many.

Over the years she had many different jobs out of the home, but the job she shined the most in was being a wife, mom & gramma.  Anything Carol attempted to do, she found a way to be successful at it.  She had the ability to see a problem and find a solution even if she had to invent it!

Interment will follow at the Fort Nelson Cemetery. Carol’s grandchildren were the light of her life.  In lieu of flowers or expressions of sympathy in memory of Carol, the family has set up an account at Scotiabank (#0454680) and all donations will go toward her grandchildren’s education.
