We send our condolences to Herman's family. Herman was a huge part of our family growing up. He was often at our home as his family, for some time, lived 1/2 mile from us. He was my shinny partner playing against my brothers and we had many good and hotly contended hockey matches, under the light from the coal oil lamp shining though the kitchen window. He was kind and generous to us kids. I remember one particular Christmas when he brought gifts for my sister and I, a lovely doll for Nora and a Red Rider pump action BB gun for me! I never forgot that and still today count that as one of the very best gifts I received as a kid! Herman was much like his dad,"Ole Pa" to us, and his sister Thea, always thinking of the welfare of others. Our family is blessed to have known them as neighbors and friends! Thanks for the memories, gifts and prayers Herman!
