Obituary of Albert Hauber

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Hauber, longtime resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, in Prince George , B.C. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

April 21,1944 - February 21,2021

Albert Hauber of Chetwynd, BC, beloved father to Frank and Kelly passed away Sunday February 21, 2021.  Albert was born April 21, 1944 followed 3 mins after his twin brother Ed in Cudworth, Sask.

Albert was raised on a farm and introduced to hard work at a young age, along with his 12 brothers and sisters.  In 1949 Grandpa and Grandma (Bill & Violet) packed up and headed to Red Deer. They put the 4 oldest boys and the cook stove in the grain box and the 3 youngest rode up front with Grandpa and Grandma.  Once in Red Deer they farmed and had 4 more children.  Not long after this they found an opportunity in Progress, BC where they set up a sawmill and cleared the land for farming.  At that time they had 2 more children that completed their family.

In 1964 Albert and Ed ventured to Little Prairie, BC where there were plenty of jobs from logging to running equipment, or trucking goods to the Bennett Dam.  This is where Albert found his passion for trucking.  It wasn’t very long after that Albert started to purchase his own trucks, which we all know were blue in color.

In 1973 Albert met Elizabeth Callaway in Chetwynd where their son Frank was born on April 22, 1974 and Kelly following on November 16, 1977.

In 1991 Albert and the boys picked up Albert’s house from the Rodeo grounds and moved it to Gerwien road where it resides today.

In 2010 Albert and Anne started dating.  He found himself spending less time with his trucks and more time with Anne.  They met every morning for coffee and toast and as Anne set off to work Albert would make his way back to his shop in the yard.  In the 11 years spent together they went on a few road trips, one included a trip to the Yukon.  They kept each other happy and in love.

Albert leaves to mourn, sons Frank and Kelly, girlfriend Anne Steeves. Grandchildren Destiny, Kyle, Julie, Kamryn and Morgan and one Great Grandchild Kaelix.  Siblings Aggie, Delores, George, Helen, Joe, Bob and Sharon.

Albert is predeceased by his parents Bill and Violet, brothers Johnny, Ed, Willie, Ralph and Walter.  Nephews Troy, Vince, Aaron and Spence.

Due to COVID restrictions no formal service will be held at this time.   For friends so wishing, donations in Alberts's memory may be made to The Bear Mountian Nordic Ski Association, P.O. Box 21033, Dawson Creek, BC, V1G 4X8
