Obituary of Clinton Turner

It is with great sadness to announce that, Clinton Edward Turner, passed away very suddenly at home on April 8, 2021.  Clint was always up for coffee and a chat no matter who or where or when and it often lasted several hours.  If he said he was coming home at a certain time, I never believed it because he always found someone to gibber-gabber with.  He could be gruff when needed but was kind and loving.  God must have felt that we were finally ready to meet each other when we met in 2010.  On June 9, 2012 he married the love of his life, Erin Wheale from Winfield, AB.

Clint did many jobs from running CAT and other heavy equipment, mining, construction, welding, to driving truck, to his love of farming.  We had the dream to continue his parents dream of farming.  We both loved it.  Lots of work but the two of us together, we made it happen our way, as we could.  He was a great teacher and we taught each other many things.  I always called him “Captain Overkill” because he always said “if a little will do, a LOT will be better.”  There was never any doubt in my mind that he was proud of me for learning something new, it was a little embarrassing at times, because the whole world knew how proud he was.

His favorite things were anything CAT, Steiger, farming or firearms among other things.  He loved reloading and going to the range.  We hadn’t been to the gun club a lot these last years but we were trying to get there more this year as we both love shooting and missed going.  Going for drives was another thing we loved.  After church on Sundays, we often spent the rest of the day touring around, sometimes till 4am.

We were never blessed with children of our own, but last year my cousin, Katherine, came to live with us.  She soon became our “adopted daughter”.  Clinton loved her as his own and was so proud of everything she learned.  He took great pride in teaching her things.  We always say in our house “if we can’t do it the way “other” people can, that just means we need to find a different way that works for us so we can accomplish the same things.  There is always a way.  God always provides.”

Clinton is predeceased by his father Edward Turner.

Clint is survived by his loving wife Erin; his mother Francis; adopted daughter Katherine, Aunt Marge Turner; as well as many other extended family and a large family of in-laws. He is also survived by his 5 nieces and 2 nephews whom he loved very much.

A Celebration of Clint's Life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 3:00pm at Matthew's Centennial Park, Farmington, British Columbia.   For friends or family so wishing, donations may be made to  our church The Grandview Chapel, 900 94 Ave, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 1G2 or  Clint's in-laws church the Country Gospel Church, RR1 Winfield, AB T0C 2X0, or the charity of your choice.
