Obituary of James Nelson
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of James Nelson, resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 74 years. Due to COVID restrictions no formal service will be held at this time.
James (Jim) Wayne Nelson passed away peacefully in Dawson Creek on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, at the age of 74.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Gail Roth and brother Dave Nelson; children Wayne, Tina, Candice (Jaimie), Brad (Tina) and Heather (Chris); grandchildren Cody, Paige, Brayden, Brandon, Ryan, Haley and Hunter; great grandchildren Amelia and Brynn; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Born October 9, 1946 in Dawson Creek, Jim began working for the family United Van Lines company at a young age and was a long-time trucker who went on to own his own branches in the moving business. He loved being on the road and was a man of many talents. In his leisure time, Jim enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, and watching NASCAR, all things that go fast!
Jim was preceded in death by parents Cecil and Edna Nelson, brother Dale and sister Lorri.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Dawson Creek Hospital for their care and compassion. A private family gathering will take place later this year to return him to the earth and revisit the river and mountains he so loved.
