Hoa Thai

1951-2021

Hoa was born December 15th 1951 in Rach Gia, Vietnam.  He lived the first 29 years of his life with his parents, four brothers, three sisters and nieces & nephews.  In February of 1980, he immigrated (through sponsorship) to Dawson Creek, BC. Canada. Here, he created a life with family up until his passing at the age of 70 on April 26th 2021.

Hoa (known as Thai outside of family) enjoyed his 41 years in the peace region working as a Vehicle Detailer. First at Timberline for 20 years and then another 6.5 years at Peace Country Toyota before retiring in 2017.

Hoa never married and was accustomed to the simple life.  He was quiet, reserved, professional and particularly fussy, but with his infectious smile and laugh, he was fun to be around. His best attribute however, was his devotion. In particular; his devotion to his niece Loan of whom, in life, faced many health challenges that needed special care. Hoa now continues to care for her in heaven.

It was always Hoa and Loan; two peas in a pod. You could find him most always driving Loan and her dog Teddy Bear around for appointments, shopping or just stopping for a double double at Timmies.  They were truly inseparable.  He cared for her like his own daughter; he sympathized with her and understood her like no other. His love for her was evident in the way he cared for her.

Hoa passed away in his sleep on April 26th of heart failure.  He is predeceased by his parents Thai Van Sang and Duong Thi Nguyet, and his niece Loan Duong.  He is survived by his brothers Thanh (Phan); Nam (Kim Tien, Huynh); Hoang (La); Thanh (KimAnh) and his sisters Dung (Doan); Le (Jay); and Trang; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace Hoa; until we meet again
