Obituary of Peggy Geuder

Peggy was born to Irene Slater on August 6, 1940 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Then they moved to the Salmon Arm, BC area where she grew up and did her schooling, then going on to the university in Victoria to get her teaching degree.

In 1960, Peggy’s first teaching job brought her to Chetwynd to teach in a one room schoolhouse at Bond siding, where she would meet her husband Fred Geuder. She would continue to teach for 47 years. Peggy loved the Peace Region and had many adventures, and she did not want to be anywhere else.

Peggy and Fred had three children: Sharon, Sandra, and Terence. Peggy loved her family deeply and would do anything and beyond for them. Peggy enjoyed being with her sisters-in-law: Jean, Freda, Anna, Mary, and their families.  Also, she enjoyed being with her mother and father in-law Mamie and Otto Wick. Peggy loved the outdoors and exploring nature. She also loved travelling with her mom to visit her brother and sister and their families.

One of Peggy’s passions was working with kids. She loved teaching in Pathfinders, volunteering in any way she could, like Christmas hampers, bottle drives, walkathons, etc., anything she could do to help children out, along with Shirley Weeks and Cathy Astleford.

Peggy loved her church and God and was always there to help wherever she was needed. She never faltered in her beliefs and was greatly rewarded in all her endeavors. Peggy lived her life to the fullest and accomplished everything she set out to do.

A private family graveside service will be held for Peggy at the Tuscoola Mountian Cemetery, Chetwynd, BC.  For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Peggy to a children’s charity of your choice.

Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
