Obituary of Eleanor Smith

On June 28, 2021, Eleanor Jean Smith (Gay), our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.  She was 75 years old.

She was originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick daughter of Blanche and John Gay. She is survived by her two younger brothers, Edward and George, who reside in New Brunswick.

Eleanor had two children, Brenda and Michelle who blessed her with grandchildren named Kristyna, Lorn Jr., Taylor, Sierra, Joelle, Aaron, Hope and Thomas. Eleanor also had beautiful great-grandchildren named Kingston, Xavier, Khaleesi, Lorn Jr., Rocklyn, Josie and Jacob.

In the 1970s, Eleanor worked at Bell Canada as a telephone operator in Ontario, Canada. Eleanor can be remembered for her immense love of animals, country music, the Blue Jays baseball team and her quirky sense of humour.

Her husband, Carlos Smith passed away in 2016, and Eleanor has spent the last five years holding on to her memories of him and good days. May she now rest in peace, free of pain and suffering. She will always be missed by her friends and family.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. She will be resting with her late husband at: Dawson Creek City Cemetery, 1900 Alaska Avenue, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Eleanor to the South Peace SPCA, 11418 3 St., Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4L5.

Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
