Obituary of Willy Porter
James Wilbert “Willy” Porter was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on February 12, 1930 to a family of nine children, and passed away on August 22, 2021 at the age of 91 years. Willy was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Verna, in December of 2003 and his son Kelly in 1995. He is survived by his two daughters Cindy (Brian) Balmforth and Wendy Porter; granddaughter Kristina Porter; grandsons Brian, Justin, and Ross Balmforth; as well as 3 great-grandchildren Monika, Eli, and Abigail.
Willy was a good honest man with a big heart and great sense of humor. “Uncle Bobo” to his many nieces and nephews will be truly missed by all. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the nurse and home support workers who have taken wonderful care of Willy in his final years. At the request of the family, no service will be held.
