Obituary of Carolyn Wheat

Carolyn Alice Wheat, 80, of Dawson Creek BC, passed away September 10, 2021.

She was born to the late Dana Peter Walton and Josephine Edna (Schiess) Walton, on April 8, 1941, in Salmon, Idaho. Carolyn graduated from South Peace High School in 1959. She met and married Charles Wheat on October 10, 1961.

They eventually settled in Dawson Creek to begin a family on the homestead. Carolyn and Charles began to open their homes to foster children. In total, they adopted 8 children, plus one permanent foster child.

Carolyn lived a full and adventurous life. She was heavily involved in different 4 H clubs, farming, bookkeeping and life in the country. She travelled all over, making friends from Canada, USA, England, Africa, Sri Lanka, and many more places.

She is preceded by her husband Charles Wheat), parents Dana & Joesphine, children Chuck Wheat, Billie Dawn Fenner, Charles Wheat; and brothers Joel and Joe Walton.

She leaves behind her children Anna Wheat (Martin Fieber), Chris (Wendy) Wheat, Cathy Wheat, Chrystal Wheat, Russell Wheat, and Carl Wheat (Caitlyn Triebel); grandchildren Christa, Shaylean, Kara, Kaymia, LiShayla, Alice, Charlie, Daphne, and Kaspar; great-grandchild Abbie; and brother Johnny Brass.

She will be sadly missed by many other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 17, 2021. Zoom will be available to those unable to attend due to current Covid-19 restrictions.
