Obituary of Allen Leslie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Allen Feregus Leslie, resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Saturday, October 17, 2021.  Allen passed away at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George at the age of 58 years.

Allen was born on December 17, 1962, at the Pouce Coupe Hospital to parents James and Mary Leslie.

As we watched him struggle for the last 9 months from Covid-19, he also showed us his strength… unfortunately, the last couple of weeks, we watched how weak he became again.  He tried his best to get home to do his everyday things, whether it be coffee or dinners or helping someone in need, for he had a heart of gold.  Allen enjoyed taking road trips to see friends and family with his co-pilot Baby (dog) riding shotgun in the front seat.

But as we know, God has called upon him and whispered in his ear… as he wrapped his wings around him and said, “Its your time my child, I have you!”

Leslie was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Leslie; his older brother Arnold Bennington; and nephew Quenton Pealo.

Leslie will be deeply missed by his loving daughter Kayla Leslie (Jason Brown), his son Kelvin Leslie; grandsons Leland Leslie, and Bravenn Yellowbird; his 5 siblings Victor Leslie, Willie (Bev) Leslie, Linda Leslie, Walter Leslie, and Marie (Ken) Pealo; his ex-wife Chris Leslie as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Allen to Diabetes Canada (formerly: Canadian Diabetes Assc.), 360-1385 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V9.
