Obituary of Marion Jones

February 8, 1931- December 2, 2021

With sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of our Matriarch, Marion Francis Jones, on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

As our Mom, Nan & Great Nanny we count ourselves so fortunate in having her as our own. Marion cherished her family and loved each of her children and grandchildren immeasurably. As a private person who enjoyed a quiet life, our Nan was happiest outside in the field atop her horse, with a good dog at her side and surrounded by cows. She was one of the best horse & cattlewomen we have ever known. She loved her and Pa’s ranch in Arras, and every animal they owned received the utmost care. Whether you were family, a friend in the riding arena or a critter in the corral, you were in good hands at Nanny’s house. After Oliver and Marion moved to town, Nan loved to have family around as much as possible. She tended to be a worry wart and felt it important to be as involved in “knowing what the kids were up to” as much as possible. She relished every visit these last years.

Marion has gone home to be with her husband Oliver Jones and daughter BettyAnn (BJ) McLeod.

She will be missed more than words can say and her memory held dear by her daughters; Joyce (Dusty) & Donna; Grandkids Ron, Rhonda (Cody), Tyler, Jodi (Riley)and their families. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Marion’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jim Hargreaves for his years of caring for Nan. Also, to the excellent and caring staff at Northview Assisted Living & Dawson Creek Hospital. Your care and compassion have been greatly appreciated.

For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Marion to Step Up ‘N’ Ride Society, 732 115 Avenue, Dawson Creek, British Columbia V1G 3B8

Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
