Obituary of Leeann (Elizabeth) Main

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leeann Main, resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the age of 61 years.  No formal service will be held at this time.

Leeann was born in Brandon, Manitoba on November 28, 1960 to William Albert Zink and Dorothy Elizabeth Roddick.

Leeann was a fun loving, compassionate lady. She always had a joke to tell with a laugh that was contagious. Leeann enjoyed spending time with her close friends, family, and grandchildren. She was a very independent lady with a strong will to succeed. Leeann was an extremely intelligent lady that always stood strong in what she believed. Her smile was the most beautiful smile in the room and warmed the hearts of others.

Leeann spent her childhood growing up in Brandon, Manitoba where she was born. At a young age she was in Brownies and Girl Guides. She also had a paper route and played the violin. Leeann enjoyed riding the minibikes out at the family farm, doubling her younger brother Ed, and occasionally sneaking around the farm to let him drive. Leeann worked at the family-owned grocery store, Zink’s Pure Food Store, and this is where she developed her strong work ethic. Leeann attended her early school years in Brandon, Manitoba and eventually moved to Gimli, Manitoba until she left school.

Leeann attended beauty school and was taught by her Aunt Judie. She later moved with her then husband, and two children to Abbotsford, British Columbia, where she successfully completed her hair dressing. Leeann returned to Manitoba and settled in Killarney. There she opened her own Salon named “A Cut Above”. Leeann never stopped growing in her career and drive to succeed. She enrolled at Assiniboine Community College and as always, worked and studied hard to successfully complete the LPN course in 1991 at the age of 31 years. Leeann was always furthering her education and loved helping those in need. Her love of nursing was sadly taken away from her after a tragic motorcycle accident in July of 2000. Leeann and her family moved to Chetwynd, BC in the early 90s where she lived out her final days. Leeann loved her music and loved to play it loud. Leeann was a loyal friend, a loving mother, and very kind, caring grandmother. She was an active member of T.O.P.S for many years.

Leeann is predeceased by her loving father William Zink (October 1986) and sister Debbie O’Hana (March 2021)

Leeann is fondly remembered by her son Christopher Main; daughter Sabrina Main; grandchildren Lewis, Alexander, Isaac, Dominic, Ethan, Josiah, and Meckenzie; brother Edward Zink; sister Yvonne Zink; loyal friends Karen Moffat, Loretta Smiley, Bruno Fournier; son-in-law Kevin Hallaert; mother Dorothy Roddick; nieces and nephews; and everyone who loved her.
