Dear Ulrike, Nora,Hanna & Felix,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you during this time of loss. Gotfried was one of a kind.
Enjoyed our many conversations with him when he did our flooring and many pieces of furniture that we will cherish.His Dear friend said it well that he was a gift.Really enjoyed hearing his perspectives on life,politics,and civil rights. I will always treasure the time I spent with you, both at the farm hanging out in nature and at the beaver dam at the beautiful home you built, and at the home In Dawson Creek. Remember bringing back schnapps from austria and him and I enjoying a few drinks at our Christmas party. Mondays and Thursdays was German lessons for yulia if she was up .

Gottfried was always such a sunshine in the French family’s life and always loved by us. On Monday mornings at 9:00 am we always had coffee brewing as we knew Gottfried was going to come by and enjoy the morning with us. even through cold winter roads, rain or sunshine he was always having coffee and chatting with us every Monday morning. I can still remember the days I would come downstairs from sleeping in and Gottfried saying “ Guten Morgen!” I always loved that voice and smile of his so loving and cheerful and caring. He will be always missed and thought about through our lives.

Gottfried was a man of superb values with a warm heart and a great sense of humour ! I was so happy to know him and to call him my friend, I loved the way he enjoyed being cooked for as he had a special way of making you feel appreciated . I know him as a devoted husband and father .
