Obituary of Leonard Gagnon

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leonard William (Lenny) Gagnon, resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the age of 85 years young. He passed away peacefully at home in Chetwynd with his family by his side.


Leonard was a long-time resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia. He was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to William and May Gagnon on Sunday, October 18, 1936. Leonard and Marlene moved to Chetwynd in 1962 where they made their home and raised their children.


Leonard is survived by his daughter Leola Brooks (Craig) of Whitehorse, Yukon; son Darcy (Suzan) Gagnon of Chetwynd, BC; grandchildren Cody Davenport (Sheila) of Winnipeg, MB, Dylan Davenport (Dee) of Peace River, AB, Jennifer Gagnon of Pouce Coupe, BC, Alex Gagnon (Olivia) of Dawson Creek, BC, and Samantha (Tommy) Nichols of Chetwynd, BC; brothers James Gagnon of Shenandoah, Texas, USA, Andrew (Della) Gagnon of Edmonton, AB, and Norman (Diane) Gagnon of Lloydminster, AB; sister Ruth Janzen of Calgary, AB; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


He is predeceased by his wife Marlene Gagnon (nee Nelson); granddaughter LeaAnne Gagnon; parents May and William Gagnon; brother Larry Gagnon; and sisters-in-law Marion Gagnon (nee Goertz), Darlene Gagnon (nee Joyce), and Louise (nee Neufield).


With respect to Leonard's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of Leonard's life will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Leonard to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 200 - 4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, British Columbia V5G 4K6.
