Obituary of Randy Templeton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Randal "Randy" Templeton, a resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the age of  66 years.

Randy was born to Sandy Templeton and Marjorie Robinson on March 3rd, 1956, in Grande Prairie, Alberta. An independent and vibrant personality from the beginning, Randy enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. In his younger years he would play baseball, water polo and golf. His love for outdoor activities included camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and kayaking to name a few.

After high school he immediately went on to study forestry at Prince George’s Community College and fought forest fires in the summer months. After receiving a degree in forestry, Randy moved back to Dawson Creek to begin his career in the local sawmill as a saw filer.

A knee injury left him unable to continue with his lifestyle and led to a subsequent career change into computer programming. This was a big move for him and would take him across Canada and through many cities like Toronto, Calgary, Langley, and Burnaby.

Later, Randy moved back to Dawson Creek to help care for his mother. His favorite pastime was gardening and going to the public library to pick up his next book to read. Edgar Rice Burroughs and Louis Lamour were some of his favorite novels to sit back and read on the patio. He always enjoyed playing a good computer game and watching Korean kung-fu movies.

Randy is survived by his brother Don Templeton; sister Marilyn Templeton; nephews James Nicholson, Richard (Sherida) Nicholson, and Max Templeton (Vanessa); nieces Taylor and Jordan Robinson; great-nieces and great-nephews Koral (Trevor), Jordyne, Keiran, Tessa, Caden, Michael and Layla; and great-great nephews Liam and Luke.

Randy is predeceased by his father Sandy Templeton; mother Marjorie Robinson; stepfather Russ Robinson; sister Glenda Doyle; and brother Douglas Templeton.

No service will be held at Randy's request. Randy will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Randy to the Dawson Creek Senior Citizens Hall, 1101 McKellar Ave, Dawson Creek, BC, V1G 2S2.

Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
