Obituary of Margaret Magusin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Magusin (nee Hudson), on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 87 years. Margaret passed away peacefully with her husband Peter and family at her side after a brief illness at the Salmon Arm hospital.

Margaret is predeceased by her four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her husband Peter of 53 and a half years; daughters Elaine (Mark) and Heather (Dino); granddaughter Kaleigh; sisters in law Joyce, Julie, and Annie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was born and raised in Darwen, Lancashire, England. After leaving school, she worked as a legal secretary and excelled at shorthand and typing.  She was also involved in Cubs and accompanied her mother on a trip to the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, in France. Margaret came to Canada in 1965 to work as a lay apostle at Notre Dame School in Dawson Creek, B.C., where she taught typing and was the school secretary. In early 1968, she began going to the country church in Farmington where she met Peter. They were married later that year.

Mum was an avid gardener, a wonderful baker, and spent countless hours canning fruit and making jam. She was the family genealogist; a project she began in the 1980’s and continued until recently. She was a tireless volunteer for school activities, a long time CWL member and devoted to her family and her faith.
