Obituary of Colin McIntyre
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Colin McIntyre in Kelowna, BC on July 29, 2022 at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his children Sara and Rusty; his grandchildren Warren and Angelique; his siblings James (Cheryl), Betty and Jean (Don); his many much loved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Angelique, his parents Jim and Joan, his sister Jill and his brother-in-law Bob.
Colin grew up and attended school in Dawson Creek, BC. He apprenticed as a carpenter, gained his Red Seal Certification, worked during his early years mainly in large industrial projects—such as Fort McMurray, Peace Canyon Dam, Limestone Generating Station—and later preferred work in residential and commercial construction so that he could be close to Angelique and their children.
Colin was keen for all kinds of music, especially country and blues. He played the guitar, sometimes could be coaxed to sing and was known to try his hand at playing the drums. Nonetheless, Colin’s greatest passion was for people. He truly loved his family and friends, enjoyed being with them and was careful to keep in touch with all those who had moved away.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities
no doubt have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely
and with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with
your old nonsense.
This day is all that is
good and fair.
It is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on yesterdays.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A Celebration of Life for Colin will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. from Moberly Lake Marina.
