Obituary of Milja Larocque
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Milja Sylvia Telervo Larocque; loving wife, mother, aunt, and sister, passed away at Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek, BC on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the age of 84 years.
Milja had such a thirst for knowledge, a love of nature and animals and most of all, a deep and abiding love for God, which she shared with all she met. She loved the simple things in life and spending time with her precious family. She loved music and reading and instilled that love in her children and grandchildren.
Her family and friends will miss her sweet and salty presence greatly and remember her lovingly with a smile.
We are sincerely grateful to the staff at Rotary Manor for looking after Mom and the many friends and family that have given us support and comfort during this time of loss.
Milja was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Germain Larocque; parents Frans and Vienno Hakamaki; brother Arnie Hakamaki; sisters Elna Mitchell and Helvie Robblee; great granddaughter Emily Carissa Naeth.
Milja was survived by her five children, Norman (Iris) Larocque, George (Agatha) Larocque, Danielle (Denis) Talbot, Raymond Larocque and Giselle (Rocky) Longpre; grandchildren Kodie Kenny, Tyler Kenny, Caleb Larocque, Jeramy (Katherine Bell) Naeth, Shane (Stacey) Naeth, Brandon (Elizabeth) Naeth, Chantelle (Clint) Boos, David (Courtney Kerr) Talbot, Paul (Jennifer) Simmonds, Janaya Rice, Johnathan Larocque, Shawn Larocque, Jason (Lacey) Travers, Jefrey Travers, James Travers, Bradley Morrison, Kayla (Logan) Colomb; 28 great grandchildren; brother Albert Hakamaki; over 50 foster children; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 644 105A Avenue, Dawson Creek, BC.
