Obituary of Lyle Braden
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lyle Ernest Braden, a long-time resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the age of 90.
Lyle Braden was born February 17, 1932, to Lyle and Verna Braden at home on their farm. He was the second of four children and grew up on the family farm at what is now known as Braden Crossing near Rolla.
In 1953, Lyle married Jean Scott. They had four children, Terry, Randy, Shelley and Jim and made their home in Dawson Creek.
The majority of Lyle’s career was in the wholesale food industry. In his spare time, Lyle loved the outdoors and the stories of his many hunting, fishing & snowmobile trips are still talked about today. He also liked to garden and always had a vegetable garden.
Lyle volunteered much of his time to groups, such as the Elks Club, Paradise Valley Snowmobile Club and the River Rats to name a few.
After he retired in 1991, he got very interested in genealogy and joined the Roots Group and the South Peace Historical Society.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean; his children, Terry (Gary) Odynak, Randy (Maria) Braden, Shelley (Greg) Middlemass, Jim (Denise) Braden; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Vesta Darling and Bonnie Readman.
With respect to Lyle’s wishes, no formal service will be held, but his immediate family will get together
next year to inter his ashes at the Briar Ridge Cemetery.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
