Obituary of Merle Gano
It is with heavy hearts that we announce, Merle Gano, a resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, and since 2018, a resident of the Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek where he peacefully passed away on Thursday,Oct 27, 2022, at the age of 91. Formerly a long-time resident of Bonanza AB., where he and his late wife Doreen homesteaded and raised their family in the Cotillion area.
Merle loved the farming life, hunting, curling, baseball, music and loved to play his banjo and accordion. Merle always had time for coffee with friends and neighbors.
Merle is survived by his son Gerald, daughter Janice (John Skinner), son Tony (Darlene); grandchildren Lance (Bonnie), Kandace (Jason Sapp) and Andrew; great-grandchildren Tristen Edzerza, Grayson and Finley Gano and Zendayah Sapp; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Merle was predeceased by his beloved wife Doreen; parents Homer and Lura, brother Ross (Bud), sisters Irene, Dorothy and Dura.
With respect to Merle’s wishes no funeral service will be held.
