Obituary of Joyce Pocock

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Joyce Mary Etta Pocock. A longtime resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Joyce passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Mom was born November 4, 1932, in Dungannon, Ontario, to Frank and Mary Glenn. She was the fifth of eight children. Mom and dad (Herb) married on December 22, 1951, in Dungannon, Ontario. There they had five handsome sons, David, Allen, Steven, Dennis, and Larry.

In the 70s they left the province of Ontario to move to beautiful Dawson creek, British Columbia. It is when they settled in Dawson that mom and dad ended up with four loving daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Mom is survived by her sons David Pocock, Allen (Lucy) Pocock, Steven (Suzanne) Pocock, Larry (Leslie) Pocock; grandchildren Erin Williamson, April (Quinton Ducharme) Pocock, Myles Pocock, Steven (Haley) Pocock, Samantha Pocock, Dylan Quast; great-grandchildren Brandon Williamson, Cierra Williamson, Jacobi Pocock, Lily Pocock, Cole Williamson, Dominic Ducharme; brother Donnie Glenn; and too many nieces and nephews to mention.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Herb; son Dennis; daughter-in-law Terry; parents Frank and Mary Glenn; sister June; brothers Jack, Oliver, Vernon (Pete), Gerrie, and Harold (Bud).

With respect to Mom’s wishes there will be no formal service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Joyce to the Alzheimers Society of British Columbia, #300 - 828 West 8 Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5Z 1E2, or Rotary Manor Care Facility, 1121-90 Avenue, Dawson Creek, British Columbia V1G 5A3.
