Obituary of Allen Newby
Allen Raymond Newby of Dawson Creek, British Columbia died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023. He was 78 years old.
Al was born on June 8th, 1944, in Dawson Creek to Raymond and Helen Newby. Al attended South Peace Secondary School and spent his working life at CJDC TV, retiring as station operations manager.
Al was an outdoorsman, hockey coach, stock car racer, local TV producer, and more. But to those who knew him best, Al was a loving father to his children and ‘uncle’ to his family and those around him.
Al is survived by Marilyn Newby, his wife of 55 years; his two sons Dallas and Derek; and his sister Darlene Roberts of Kelowna, BC.
Al was fond of reminding us that death was part of life and wanted to be remembered but not mourned. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
No formal service will be held at Allen's request.
