Obituary of Vassiliki "Vicky" Sudnik

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Vicky Sudnik on April 28, 2023, at the age of 74 years

Vicky was born in a small village in Drymos, Greece where she grew up with 3 older and 2 younger brothers.  In her teenage years, her brothers assisted Vicky in a move to Winnipeg where her eldest brother had taken up residence.  She worked various jobs and trained to work as a hairdresser and would eventually meet her husband John.  They married on July 27, 1968, and made the decision to relocate and settle in Dawson Creek BC.

Over the years Vicky worked hard, helping to build their home, manage life on the farm, raise the family, and assist with John’s welding business.  Her favorite times were spent playing with her 4 grandchildren as they grew up.  Vicky was extremely proud of all their accomplishments whether it was dancing, basketball or some other sporting event, theater, graduation, career choices or simply a new drawing or picture for her refrigerator, she loved her granddaughters dearly.

Vicky was an avid green thumb and over the years created an endless number of flower beds and gardens and would often share a clipping of this or a transplant of that to those that shared her love of this craft.  She loved her time at home, especially being outdoors in the summer where she could enjoy all that nature has to offer.  The invitation was always there for friends or family to come over and share in that enjoyment along with the offer of a ‘weenie roast’ and beverage.

Vicky leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years, John; her three children Kathy (David) Shoemaker, Michael (Deanna) Sudnik, Christopher Sudnik; grandchildren Sarah Shoemaker, Bailey Shoemaker, Rebecca Sudnik, and McKenna Sudnik along with extensive relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service for Vicky will be held at Reynars Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Dawson Creek Hospital Foundation 11100 - 13 Street, Dawson Creek, BC, V1G 3W8.

Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
