Obituary of George William Fitzpatrick

George William Fitzpatrick, resident of Baytree, Alberta, passed away on November 16th, 2014 at 71 years of age. George found peace, surrounded by his family, in his home, after a year long battle with lung cancer. Born November 28th 1942 in Medicine Hat to parents, Sidney William Fitzpatrick and Jean Margret Edvardson, George was the first of seven children. George was married to Lenora on May 11, 1976 in Kamloops, B.C. They moved to Baytree, Alberta in 1978 where they bought "The Farm". It was here they raised their four sons. George enjoyed camping, skiing, water skiing, prospecting, traveling, and spending time with his loving wife, children and nine grandchildren. George worked as an operator in the Baytree area for 30 plus years and trained many young men in the community. George is survived by his loving wife Lenora and children: George (Lesley) of Montney B.C., Adam (Terri) of Silver Valley Alberta, Nathan (Katie) of Baytree, Alberta, and Jordan (Amanda) of Montney B.C. Beloved grandchildren: Sydney, Dylan, Otto, Avva, Anja, Griffin, Redden, Zackery and Gwenyth. George was predeceased by his parents Sidney and Jean, and brother Shea Edvardson. George will be lovingly remembered by his many siblings, nieces, nephews, as well as many more family members, friends, and neighbours. A celebration of George’s life was held at 2pm November 22, 2014 at Bergeron Funeral Services and Crematorium in Dawson Creek, B.C.
